Every new mom should have a village to support them, and this place is exactly that! I initially signed up for their mommy and me class just to get out of my house with my 3-month-old, and be somewhere where obviously a babywould be welcomed ( equipped with changing stations, nursing not being anawkward thing, being around people who just GET IT!l. It was refreshing to meet other moms with same aged kiddos while getting information to help me feel more confident coming into motherhood. I had only decided to take one course at the baby stage, but they continue to offer classes to support you until your babe is well into toddlerhood! On top of the parenting classes, they offer free playgroup drop ins so you can just get your little one around other kiddos, and my personal favorite- music classes! I most loved/continue to love( were still going strong) the music classes because it was such great exposure for my little one and it follows a fun predictable routine she really looks forward to, and of course ends with bubbles. Ive now taken at least 4 different sessions and whats nice is their music incorporates fun songs for the adults so you can enjoy it too, and experience variety. Just when you think thats all, this gem of a place also offers yoga classes, as well as services to meet with a board cerified Lactation consultant. New moms should definitely make the investment in themselves and their well-being, and visit The Family Room!
The Family Room is an amazing community that I recommend to all expecting parents. I learned everything I know about being a mom from the other parents and the teachers at The Family Room. The parent and me class changed my life after struggle as a new mom and I am so grateful for the support I received.
The new music class, The Music Room, has stolen our 3 year olds heart. Miss Rebecca the music teacher is a delight. She is so warm and engaged with the children for the entire 45 minutes of class. The class is also engaging for the grown ups as well, theres not a straight face in the room. Only smiles! We couldnt be happier with our experience here and look forward to trying more classes here in the future.
I met Karen, the owner of The Family Room, when I was in my 3rd trimester. Little did I know at the time that she and The Family Room would make my transition to motherhood an amazing one. I took all my prenatal classes there. Breastfeeding basics, newborn care, birth overview, and CPR were all excellent. Since my son was born, weve been going to the playgroup on Thursdays and taking Love Bug & Me Music. He absolutely loves it! Its truly a wonderful place for families to come and grow together.
I can’t speak highly enough about my time at the family room. Jessica is a wonderful resource and the parent and me classes are beyond helpful. Kim-Lan is such a great instructor and I’ve made great mom friends, which is so necessary during this first year of being a new parent! The free postpartum support group is also such a nice thing to have in our community. I recommend this lovely place to everyone!
The Family Room has been instrumental for our family. My son was born in October 2015 and we had so much trouble breast-feeding, as well as with general issues new moms face. I was eager to find a support system from a community that understood what I was going through. The Family Room exceeded my expectations 10 fold, and they continue to do so. I first attended TFR for a breast-feeding support group, then Mommy and Me, Thursday drop in play groups, and Love Bug and Me Music for the last 17 months. Karen, the owner, is compassionate and caring to all the families that come to TFR. She really listens to requests and tries hard to satisfy them. I have always felt comfortable reaching out to her with questions/concerns about TFR and community. In addition to Karen being amazing, I have met many Mamas there as well. We have regular play dates and keep in touch for advice and support. I can’t say enough wonderful things about The Family Room. If you’ve read all the way through this review, don’t hesitate, just check it out already.
I cannot say enough wonderful things about The Family Room and its amazing owner, Karen!! The place is warm and welcoming, perfect for new or soon to be parents as well as those with toddler/preschool age children. The Family Room hosts a FREE playgroup every Thursday morning which offers parents and children a place to socialize. Karen has obviously poured her heart into finding the best resources to help educate and support parents. Please do yourself a favor and check it out!
I absolutely love The Family Room! I discovered it when my daughter was a baby, and three years later we are still active. It is seriously the best resource for parenthood. They offer everything from prenatal classes, mommy and me, music and more. I highly reccomend!
I am so glad my baby got to go to a few music classes here. The teachers are so engaged and amazing!! They make it really interactive and fun. Highly recommend the Family room!!
